License key for JIRA Version 3.12.2 needed

Victor Petrov September 28, 2012

We have JIRA database exported from our old system JIRA 3.12.2 and need to import this data to JIRA 4.4.

We tried to make import into local installed JIRA 4.4. But it diesn't work. We get an error that the data has old format.

Currently we need:

1) to install locally JIRA 3.12.2

2) import our XML into it

3) upgrade local copy of JIRA 3.12.2 to 4.4

4) delete unused data

5) export data to XML (in Format of JIRA 4.4)

The problem is that during installation of local copy of JIRA 3.12.2 we have been asked for License key. But from Atlassian account we can get only licenses for JIRA version 4 or above.

How can we get evaluation license for JIRA 3.12.2 ?

Or how can we convert our XML exported data to format JIRA 4.4.

Thanks.

I don't quite follow, I always thought you could upgrade a XML backup, even if it's an older version:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Restoring+Data

Only project imports require that the source XML backup is from the same version.

You shouldn't need a 3.12.2 license.
