Jira Upgrade from 3.13.2 to 4.4 x

Vineet Kumar January 8, 2014

As per the Demand we have to upgrade the Jira from 3.13.2 to 4.4. As it is advisable not to go with the latest version directly. So, Can anyone please suggest us the steps or the things we should take care of. We are using Oracle Application server 10 g at this point and also planning Tomcat to take over. There are total 80 plugins we have installed.

I want to have some rough ideas about the issues we can face.

Please give your suggestions on the comment box.

Thanks

Vineet

Vineet,

The best place to start is the Upgrading JIRA docs (https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Upgrading+JIRA) I'd recommend that you review the plugins carefully to make sure they all have compatible versions. And check if many of the plugins are not system ones. You only need to worry about the ones that don't ship with JIRA.

Also, the first thing that I'd recommend is that you set up a test environment to work on this upgrade.
