JIRA REST API - Best Way to Extract Metrics

Dean Stevens April 8, 2013

Sorry for the newb question, but I got thrown into the deep end on this task. I'm working on a client project and I need to extract several metrics (like issue discovery rate) using the JIRA REST API. Is the best approach to this to create filters, or am I missing some way to get at metrics directly via the REST API? Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi Dean,

Yes, currently the best approach to extract this from the REST API would be through filters. Or you could developt a more robust client that can retrieve issue details one by one and build the data that you are looking for.

Cheers,

Pedro

Hi Pedro-

Thanks! I'll use filters for v1, maybe we'll find that it's useful to retrieve individual issues in a future revision.

Thanks again,

Dean
