Is there a Maven plugin to add a version to a Jira project when a project is released?

We use Jenkins and the Maven Release plugin to execute our releases. We have been using Jira for 6 months and love it. The only outstanding issue we have is that every time we run a release in Jenkins we have to update the versions in the corresponding project in Jira. I can write a maven plugin that uses the REST client to do this but I figured this might be a solved problem by now.

Thanks
