Importing project from onDemand backup

Sander Cornelissen September 23, 2012

We would like to import our onDemand Jira in our own standalone version. The onDemand version is version 1.5.2-m05, and our standalone is the latest stable version 1.5.1. When we try to import the data from the onDemand version we gat the following error:

This data appears to be from an older version of JIRA. Please upgrade the data and try again. The current version of JIRA is at build number '784', but the supplied backup file was for build number '807'.

We won't upgrade Jira to EAP as it isanproduction environment and therefore not suitable for an beta-program. What can be a solution for such situation?

Hi Sander,

I'm sorry to say that the only way to do this is to upgrade to the EAP version of JIRA that has been specifically released for OnDemand customers to migrate their data to/from the platform. Currently this is the only solution but we are investigating the possibilities for backwards compatibility in future version of our applications to mitigate this issue, but unfortunately this isn't currently an option.

All the best,
John
