Importing a Project doesn't retain the Versions Release Date

Guy Anela August 19, 2012

I'm moving Projects from one instance of JIRA to another using the Export/Import feature. When I import the Project onto the new instance, it correctly creates all of the Versions but it doesn't retain any of the Release Date values. Is this a known issue? If so, is there a workaround so I don't have to manually enter all of the Release Date values?

Don't know about the problem, but a workaround is possible by using exportData from JIRA Command Line Interface. It contains version data that can then be run against the new installation.
