I want to Track How Many Times an Issue Moves BACK in the Process

Christopher Morrow October 30, 2014

Hi All!

I have a fairly quick question...management is wanting to see how many times an issue goes BACK in our process....for for example:

We have 5 states:

Triage > Analysis > Dev > Testing > Close

If the ticket moves all the way to testing, then it goes back to Development (er, because of a bug), is there a way for JIRA to tally this and display a report in a Dashboard?

For example,

  • Issue TPM-03 went BACK from Testing to Dev 3 times during the life-cycle
  • Issue TPM-03 went BACK from Testing to Analysis 1 time during the life-cycle
  • Issue TPM-03 went BACK from Dev to Analysis 2 times during the life-cycle

Metrics like that....is it possible?

Thanks!

Chris

Is there anything we can use without having to buy a plug-in at all? Thank you.

Hi Christopher!

Please take a look at eazyBI report creation plugin for JIRA.

With eazyBI you can create custom reports based on JIRA data. Please see example report of Issues that Transitioned to Reopened status more than once as well as some other examples in our documentation page.

Let me know if you have any additional questions about eazyBI or specific reports.
You can contact me directly on support@eazybi.com

Kind regards,
Lauma
