I wanna export single project information such as project, issues, attachments and etc..

Deleted user December 9, 2014

hi...

I wanted to export or backup single project..

However as I searched information, it would be not available..

It has to export entire .xml as a backup service and next, import project..

But I don't want it that way..

Becuase my JIRA is too big now so can't export .xml now..

Also I tried to backup using mysqldump..

yeah it can do backup.. but when I restore it, all JIRA information was changed..

I couldn't choose a single project when I restore..

How can I export or backup single project..?

Hi Hyeonoh,

It indeed isn't possible to export a single project from JIRA, this is being tracked on JRA-34307, which I'd advise you to vote on and keep watching it.

That being said, if you cannot take a full XML backup, what you could do is:

  1. Create a MySQL dump;
  2. Restore it in a different database and point a new (test) instance of JIRA to it;
  3. In the test instance of JIRA, delete all projects that you do not want (alternatively, if there are many projects, try bulk deleting issues instead) until you can finally:
  4. Export the full backup (which should now be a lot smaller).

It isn't the best solution as JRA-34307 isn't implemented, but it should do the trick. smile

Cheers,
Matheus
