How to create a Glossary in Confluence

Does anyone have a step-by step procedure on how to create a Glossary in Confluence? We are currently using 3.5.9, but will be updating to 5.4 in near future. I am a neophyte when it comes to macros and widgets....and cannot figure out how to create a glossary term that is searchable. I also do not know what plugins I would need to accomplish this task.

Thank you

Hi Beth,

I recommend you to try this new Glossary plugin. You can view it here, in the Atlassian Marketplace:

It's easy to use it and it lets you manage thousands of terms and their definitions inside a smart wiki page tree.

It contains a search box to quickly find a term definition.

If you have further questions about it, please contact us at

Before clicking the link you may want to know that it costs, $2000 for maxxed Confluence.

Thank you Anis for this information! I will talk with my company about this product.
