We have custom screens and would liked to add Configure fields button to it. How do we add this button.
Also soem of the screens have the lock icon on the bottom. Viewable by All Users. What controls who views this?
What do you mean by "configure fields button"? Do you mean the button that allows people to configure what fields they see on any screen (bearing in mind that the administrators decide which fields go onto screens initially and then the config fields lets a user hide what they don't want)
The lock button restricts visibility of the comment you are making
Yes the button that allows people to configure what fields they see on any screen.
We want to add that to our custom screen called Modufy Issue

It's not a function of the "screen" (which is just a list of the fields to offer), it's placed by Jira on the Create or Edit action screens.
I think it would take code to add it to transition screens.

Yes we only see it on EDIT screen. Can we copy the Create or Edit action screens and modify them as a a customized screen? If so, what is the default name?

I'm sure it could be done, but I'm not sure it's easy - the code that calls the screen (as in "list of fields") is different in create/edit and the workflow.

Any updates with the newer version of Jira? Such a useful button ("Configure Fields")! It is so silly it can't be turned on on other screens (like "Resolve issue")

No updates.
I suspect it's of a lot less use on transition screens if your Jira admins are mapping a process - fields on transition screens should generally be presented to the users because they're useful to anyone who can do that transition (as opposed to create and edit where it's reasonable for groups of fields to be useless to different users)
