How do you change the JIRA URL?

Tudor Hofnar January 16, 2013

We are confused as to how to change the JIRA URL. Right now it is http://servername:8080 which is our server name and port. However, we would like JIRA to be accessible at a URL something like http://jira. Is there any way to do this? Is this done in Apache or somewhere in the configuration???? Thanks!

You set the port in intial setup. If you want to chang it try looking here:

You will need to amend the URL via general configuration.

Once done, you then need to contact networks team in your organisation to make a dns entry mapping your hostname to the jira url that you have set.

Hope it helps.
