How do I restore the "users" role?

I deleted the "Users" role; now, nothing seems to work correctly. How can I restore it?

Not a huge amount actually.

I would get a recent backup restored to a test system so I could look through the old usage, but the rest is manual (unless you want to go for restoring a backup in production!)

Add it back with the same name. Then you need to go through all your permission schemes to add it back where it was used. Check your workflows and notification schemes for it's usage too. Then the last, and possibly most painful part - put the users back into it in the various projects they were in before.
