How can I trace requirements to test cases in Jira-Greenhopper?

We recently purchased, Jira on-demand with Greenhopper. each requirement/user story is getting divided into multiple pieces by our application architect and he is creating an issue for each to assign to his team. As his team resolves the issues, they assign them to QA. The QA team wants to perform multiple test against each issue and pass or fail them. If failed assign it back to the developer. what is the most efficient way to implement this process and keep the traceability from requirement to passing of a test case? is there a view or report to see the traceability matrix?

Although it is not currently available at OnDemand, the JIRA PDF View Plugin generates customizable traceability matrix reports for on-premise JIRA users.

The way it works is simple: you specify the issue link types you want to be checked (like "verified by" from requirements to testcases or "generates" from to requirements to implementation tasks) and then discovers the dependencies and their directions:
