How can I add 'Reported date' to Issue type (x-axis or y-axis) in 2-dimensional gadget in dashboard?

There is no reported date field in the dropdown boxes in x-axis or y-axis of the 2-dimensional filter statistics gadget available in the dashboard. I want a table to displaying the status of issues by the reported date.

Date fields are not accepted by this gadget. The closest you can get is to use the Recently Created Issues Report based on day.
