I am hoping to use Jira as a test management tool along with its defect tracking abilities.
I have referenced this http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONFEVAL/Using+JIRA+for+Test+Case+Management and installed the XMLs mentioned here http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONFEVAL/JIRA+Sample+File+-+Test+Case+Management
1> Is there documentation that describes how to use Jira for test runs and reporting?
2>After login I get 'This test case sample file allows you to login as an Administrator, QA Lead or Tester.' . Can I get rid of this?
synapseRT from Go2Group is a very good Requirement/Test Case/Bug Managerment JIRA Addon. Unfortunately does not work with JIRA OnDemand.
The http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONFEVAL/JIRA+Sample+File+-+Test+Case+Management says,"This sample file lets you play around with a real instance of JIRA that has been setup for test case management."
Does this mean that when we should not create real projects within this instance?

As the documentation says, you need your own instance to test that file.

How about commercial plugins like http://www.go2group.com/products/go2group-synapsert/ ?
