Greenhopper: Moving an issue to the Done column leaves the Resolution as Unresolved

Cailin Nelson November 4, 2012

In Greenhopper, moving an issue to the Done column leaves the Resolution as Unresolved (although the Status moves to Resolved). This seems to mess up various other JIRA counts (for example, the basic "Number of Unresolved Issues" in a Version).

How can I tell Greenhopper to set the Resolution to Fixed when the issue is moved from In Progress to Done?

Hi Cailin,

I suspect this is a problem with your workflow, not Greenhopper. There is a native JIRA field called Resolution which is seperate from the status. You need to set the Resolution field as a transition post function when you move from an open status to a resolved or closed status.

Review this document:
https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Configuring+Workflow#ConfiguringWorkflow-postfunctions
Specifically look for the section titled:
Example: Using a post function to set the 'Resolution' field

You might also want to ensure that the resolution is cleared if an issue is re-opened.
