Once a version is created with an end date and no start date, can a start date be added?

See this page for editing a start date after adding a version:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/GH056/Adding+a+Version

Specifically the part where it says:

"You can edit the Start date and End date later if you need to, via the 'Statistics' column of the Planning Board."

Hi Jeff,

Versions in JIRA don't have a start date - only a "Release Date". Start dates cannot be added. What were you hoping to get out of adding a start date to a version? There may be another way to get what you are after.
