Is it possible to temporarily disable the email notification function in Confluence onDemand?
Turning off the Send recommended updates email default is not enough
I need a way to temporarily disable email notifications, such as disabling the plug-ins which control this function
An update to the answer I previously posted to my own question! OnDemand has a regular upgrade process which resets the SMTP server settings to default, which means there is no way for me to disable outgoing email for an OnDemand instance beyond 6 days.
It looks as if the best solutions are:
The Daily Email plugin can be disabled for the confluence OnDemand service on request by Atlassian support. You can have it re-enabled at any time.
Unfortunately it is not possible to change any system plugins in OnDemand and you must contact Atlassian support to have this done. That said Atlassian support are right on the case and will do this for you within a few hours of logging the request.
I hope that his answer helps others.

I have a similar request for Jira standalone and OnDemand which can be voted on here:

Hi Rowan,
Depending on how many projects you have, one option would be to remove the notification schemes assigned to the projects as this would prevent any notifications being sent for projects that don't have a notification scheme, but unfortunately the mail handling isn't performed by a plugin so there is no simple solution, such as disabling a plugin.
All the best,
John

Hi John,
Thanks for the swift reponse. It seems as if there may be a function which can be disabled in the ondemand tool by the sysadmin user. I will update this Q&A as soon as I find out from Atlassian support what this is as thay have performed this action on my behalf.
Cheers
Rowan
