Deleting a User

Graeme Fidler November 19, 2012

I am trying to delete a number of old users that no longer work for the business. When trying to delete one of the users I get the following message:

This user cannot be deleted at this time because there are issues assigned to them, they have reported issues, or they are currently the lead of a project.

Please note that any components with this user set as the lead will have the component lead set to empty when the user is deleted

The user has reported 2 issues, so it will not let me delete the user.

How can I delete old users that have reported issues/been assigned issues, but without losing any any of the reported bugs?

Rather than deleting a user, I deactivated the user by removing them from all groups and roles.

In the issue navigator, You can bulk reassign the issues to other validated users before deleted them all. :)
