Confluence: Split Children Display Macro Into Two Segments

Stephen Kairys April 5, 2017

Confluence Server 5.9.7:

Hello,

I have a page contaniing a Children Display Macro with the following scrubbed entries.

Dogs - Diet
Dogs - Grooming
Dogs - Exercise
Cats - Diet
Cats - Grooming

Because this page is is already four levels down in our page tree, we do not want to create a fifth level...navigating down to it becomes too much of a pain.

Accroindgly, is there a way to "split" the Children Display macro so it would look as follows:

Example 1 (Whitespace between Dogs and Cats)

Dogs - Diet
Dogs - Grooming
Dogs - Exercise

Cats - Diet
Cats - Grooming

Example 2 (Header above each "section:)

Dogs

Diet
Gooming
Exercise

Cats

Diet
Grooming

-----

Thanks!

The first example is definitively possible. I did this some time ago by playing around with children display macro that was added on child pages and including later those pages (using Include Page macro) on the parent page. This is what I get:
