Clone Plus - Cloned issues do not handle Reporter correctly after username change

We recently changed our company name and modified both the email and username of all of our JIRA users.

After the change, the "Reporter" field of our cloned tickets do not link to the user - where it would normally say "Kevin Tracy" as a blue hyperlink with their avatar, it simply says "ktracy@company.com"

 

This wouldn't be a huge problem - but it makes the ticket unresponsive to JQL, ie, reporter = "ktracy@company.com" no longer returns the ticket. 

 

Is this a known issue or is there a known fix?
