Bulk move - Retain values not working

Hi,

We need to merge Jira projects into a new single project.

We are using bulk move but, Retain Original Values checkbox simply does not work both for the Reporter and Assignee field. We definitely want to retain the original reporter and current assignee, but bulk function overwrites (Assignee with Unassigned) and (Reporter displays error).

We are talking about move of thousands of issues and hundreds of reporters and assignee so its not feasible to migrate the issues manually. Please advise. Thanks!

Hi, for this to happen, the existing reporters and assignees must have enough permissions to stay as reporters/assignees in the new project. Can you please confirm this?

I agree with Harry. It should works smoothly, but both users (assignee and reporters) must be properly granted in the target project before trying to move the issue. For further details, please use the following link as your guideline:

We solved this by using a workaround. created new groups called 'migration reporters' and 'migration assignees'. Added the users and gave permission to the target project. After we did this the bulk move ran smoothly and did not even ask if we want retain values of Assignee and Reporters, the values were retained automatically.
