AtlasKit vs. AUI for add-ons offered for Cloud AND Server

Konrad Garus May 8, 2017

It appears that AtlasKit (React-based) is intended for use with Cloud products, but Server is still on AUI (jQuery-based). Is that correct?

What should the creators of add-ons shipping for both Cloud and Server do about it? Are we supposed to implement the UI twice, in React and jQuery?

Hi Konrad,

They've just released AtlasKit (and their new Design Guidelines, ADG3) at AtlasCamp last week. You can find a bit more info on this discussion on the Developer Community.

And in the documentation on the new UI for JIRA: https://confluence.atlassian.com/migration/new-jira-experience

The idea is to ship this new UI to everyone in the future (to Server as well). But there's simply no public timeline yet.

Hope this helps.

Best,

Maarten

Right, you can also find a Reduced UI Kit if you don't want to switch to React (just yet).
