Answering JIRA issue collector issues directly through JIRA

ajung January 19, 2014

Hi there,

we are using the Jira issue collector feature for collecting support requests as part of a conference orga website. Two points:

- is it possible to notify a group a people for new issue collector issues instead of having only one reporter?

- is it possible to respond to the person having submitted the issue collector issue directly from Jira?

Adding a comment to the submitted issue should trigger a notification that is also send out as email

to the person that submitted the ticket? Right now we have to create an email outside JIRA?

Hi @Andreas Jung

Raley Email Notifications can solve this problem.

- You can specify one or several emails/lists for notification recipients.

- It is possible to configure notification that will respond to the person who created a ticket via IssueCollector. Check this article for details.

Best,

Vladimir

You can have an issue collector notify a group of people by modifying the Notification Scheme for "Issue Created" for the project where the Issue Collector sits. However, this setting works for ALL issues created in that Project. You can narrow down which Issues get notifications by modifying the Post Functions in the Create Issue transition in the Workflow (which would require at least one third party plugin to accomplish).

It is not possible for the person who is submitted the issue via the Issue Collector to be responded to directly via JIRA, UNLESS they are already a JIRA user. If they are a JIRA user, then you can collect their information, make them a Reporter, or with some extra work make them a Watcher, and then they can be sent notifications.
