Confluence upgrading MySQL 5.6 to 5.7

Randall Witlicki October 23, 2017

I have a Confluence install version 6.1.3 with MySQL 5.6.36.

Now that Confluence supports MySQL 5.7 I am looking at doing a Confluence upgrade to current (6.4.3) and then migrating MySQL to 5.7.current.

Are there any issues or gotchas I should be aware of ?

Than ks

I would agree with this.  Basic strategy, upgrade confluence, copy the database over to a mysql 5.7 server and change the dbconfig.conf to the new location.  This will give you a way back as well to a working version by swinging you db pointer if needed.

I presume you've read the database config for mysql.
