Summit 2019 Community Awards

newheader.png

Every year at Summit we take a day to celebrate and engage with our Community Leaders. As part of this ritual, we love to give awards to some of the folks who went above and beyond their duties to elevate the Community program as a whole. Join us in congratulating this year's award winners in the comments below, and keep an eye out for exciting updates to the Champion + AUG Leader programs that were announced at Summit during Community Day!

Einstein Award - @Alexey Matveev

The Einstein Award could only be given to the Champion with 1,809 accepted answers. Yes, you heard that correctly. And still, he finds time to earn brilliant blogging awards, crafting articles on various topics from deploying ScriptRunner scripts to running Jira in a docker container and everything in between. His Champion peers have called him "very helpful," which may be the understatement of the century. Alexey Matveev, we are thrilled to extend this award to you!

Rising Star - @Jodi LeBlanc

Jodi is someone who committed to re-engaging in the online community and went from 0 to 60 in a short amount of time. She is consistently a top point-getter and is always quick to pop into a thread with affirmations and positive energy. Jodi has recently built upon her online efforts and jumped head-first into a Trello Events leader role, and despite 20 centimeters of snow on the ground for her first event, she led 31 attendees through a night of learning and networking, and we can't wait to see what she does next! Jodi LeBlanc, you are our Rising Star!

Top Contributor - @Nic Brough -Adaptavist-

This person needs no introduction, but where's the fun in not embarrassing him a bit? In 2018, he had 9,887 posts and 1,043 accepted answers. "His answers are always straight to the point and he helps a lot," says one of his fellow Champions. In addition, he dedicates part of his time as a member of our Advisory Board, helping shape and improves the experience for thousands of users. Nic Brough, you are superman, and we are thrilled to present the Top Contributor award to you!

Champion's Choice - @Jack Brickey

Fellow Champions describe Jack as "humble" and "low-key." Others commend his dedication and humor. "He leads by example," one person said, "by supporting others, continually staying positive and looking for ways to help." From a Community team perspective, he consistently asks thoughtful questions and thinks of creative ways to enhance the experience for all members. Jack Brickey, the people have spoken, and the Champion Choice Award belongs to you!

Set the Standard - Columbus, Ohio (@Kimberly Deal and @Kevin Stanley)

This award is given to the city with the highest number of events, to overall growth in RSVPs and attendance, this group really sets an example for Community event leaders. This city experienced 80% YOY growth in RSVPs, 126% YOY growth in attendance, and ALSO hosted 25 events in 2018! We are so impressed with how you have grown and keep your members engaged. We appreciate you and are so excited to announce that Columbus is the recipient for the Set the Standard award.

Back on the Map - @Russell J Zera _Philadelphia_ and @Dana Everwine (Philadelphia) (These two on-boarded at the beginning of April 2018 and hosted their first that same month!)

These leaders put their city back on the map! Since reactivating their city in 2018, these leaders have hosted 6 events (their first event was hosted in the same month as onboarding), have 18 attendees on average, and have had 107 total attendees! We're thrilled to announce that Philadelphia will be taking home the Back on the map award!

Rookie of the Year - Ahmedabad, India (@Maitrey Patel  and @Chandni Patel)

Any new journey can be intimidating, but this city didn't let anything stop their success. The Rookie of the year award is awarded to a new city with the best performance. Since onboarding in March of 2018, this city has hosted 6 events, has 64 members, and averages 29 attendees per event. They're here in Vegas all the way from India! We're so excited to share with you all that Ahmedabad, India will be taking home the Rookie of the year award!

Leader's Choice -  Kimberly Deal

This award is very special as the recipient was nominated by their fellow community event leaders as someone who encompasses a community spirit. Kimberly's fellow leaders had plenty of praise, referencing her positive attitude and willingness to mentor new leaders. Kimberly is a big part of making our global community feel welcoming and engaging. This award is well deserved. Kimberly, we want you to know how much you're appreciated!

EXCEEDING EVEREST AWARD - FABIAN LOPEZ

The Exceeding Everest award goes to a leader who goes above and beyond in everything they do inside and outside of the community. Not only is Fabian Atlassian community royalty, but he is a valuable member of the online and in-person community. He also volunteers his time to helping veterans.

On top of all of this, this individual leads 3 user groups and has already hosted 6 events THIS YEAR! BUT THERE'S MORE! Not only does he lead community events, but he's also a very active online leader. His contributions across the in person and online communities are invaluable, and he is always willing to lend a helping hand.

I was so sincerely surprised and honored by my award. To be recognized by one's peers, especially given the caliber of individuals that encompass the Community, is simply amazing. Congratulations to all of the winners and thank you to the entire Community!

@Jack Brickey  I second those feelings! There are so many incredible people in this Community.
I took a few days to post my bit in slack, just cause it was so much to process.
