What do you mean by "app"?
I ask because Atlassian have a confusing definition (this happens a lot with them). To most people, an "app" usually means "software for my mobile device". In the world of Atlassian, it means "a thing I plug into an Atlassian system". And there are two types of app, determined by their platform.
So, I could use a bit more detail on what you're looking for. Even if it's "Atlassian's definition of app", that's fine. I just don't want to answer the wrong question!
