I feel like I am missing something really simple with this next-gen project. We recently created a next-gen project to track at a high-level all the "projects" we have in progress within our IT department, with a number of child tasks. For example we're migrating a number of applications to the cloud and have an Epic under this next-gen JIRA project called "Cloud Migration." As children tasks we have a number of applications we are migrating as part of that initiative (ex. WMS Application to AWS). This allows us to display and report at a high level to the business what IT is working on. With this reporting need the new Dashboard view seemed like the perfect solution, and in many regards it is.
The problem we are having is when we attempt to export the issues to Excel in order to create additional metrics, charts, etc. that epic (or Parent) link is no longer available for this next-gen project. I can export every issue from the project but it provides absolutely no link between the parent and child tasks that I can find. Both Epic Link and Parent Link are blank or NULL values. How can I gain visibility to this link? Additionally if I simply browse to the child issue the Epic Link I am use to seeing is now no longer available on the screen. And it is not an option to add to the new next-gen screen. Please help! How can I see the Parent or Epic from a child task?
