@donhickman You can achieve this with an automation rule created with Better DevOps Automation for Jira. Here is a similar guide for updating the Jira issue status automatically from the commit message.

If you have connected Bitbucket and Jira, then you can click on any issue key (from the Pull request title or commits page etc.,) and update the status from the popup dialog.
