How can I configure swim lanes?

I just purchased Jira cloud in order to evaluate it for my consulting company. I am used to using JIRA and confluence with clients. I need priority based swim lanes. However I cannot even activate swim lanes. Did I buy the wrong product?

Hi @Stefan Meier,

The screenshot shows that you have Jira Software Cloud. 

You can create Swimlanes on an Agile Board, that is related to an Agile project created using any of the below project templates/types:

- Scrum Software Development

- Kanban Software Development

You mean swimlane in agile board that comes via Jira Software, right? You can easily configure your board and create swimlanes with the following doc.

It is possible that you are evaluating Jira Core (doesnt include boards)?

I tried that doc already before and it did not work. 

I also feared that I might have bought the wrong software but it says JIRA Software?

I can choose a type of project whenever I create a new one. In which types can I use swim lanes??
