Copying Test Cases

richard.allen October 20, 2019

In the product we used before,  I was able to copy test cases into multiple test sets and ad that test set  to my test plan. Our reason was we ran the same tests,  but each with a different set off data so each test should be unique because of different data.

In JIRA  I add Tests to an Execution then add that Execution to the Test Plan, say each Execution  has 5 tests. If I copy the Execution to the Test Plan the Tests are copied but with the same'key' so even though I want 10 Test in the Test Plan I have only 5.

The goal is to have multiple Executions and the Test "keys" to be unique so the Test Plan shows them as distinct tests, so the Test Plan has 10 unique Tests.

Clear as mud?

I may be trying to jam my previous concepts into JIRA and missing some point.
