Hi!

I'm beginning a discussion about what do you consider to be the best out-of-the-box feature of Jira, without the use of any addon. However the feature of expanding your jira instance with addons can count as a feature!

Mine would definitely be Workflow customization!

So what about you?

Well we´ve had implemented several plugins and finally it was impossible to say what feature comes from what - in administration there was no clue how to differentiate it. But I guess I wouldn´t be wrong if I mention the possibility to edit workflow as a picture/diagram and ensure it looks finally neat and you can copy transitions there etc. I know it is already long time there, but still, I remember the table only, so I find it very helpful...

This one should be really something to have experience! From my point of view, I'm glad that Ive found it as is (with both diagram and text). :)

I was between automation and worfklow customization. And then workflow customization (with all the automation inside it) won my vote!

Great question @Alex Koxaras _Relational_ . Prior to automation I would say it was the flexibility of configuring the workflows. Properties, conditions, validations and post functions or allow you to create a powerful workflow to align with your business processes. However now that automation has arrived in my opinion is the biggest game changer in a long time. Finally, while I have not used it yet, as I have not had a need, I believe issue security schemes would rank up there as well.

I would agree with what others have said about Automation, that is my absolute favorite. I used to work on Server/Data Center and we had the free version of Automation, but we only had a handful of rules active with maybe 5 executions a month. Now that I moved on to administer a Cloud instance we have about 50k/month and that is after I changed the top ones to be more targeted.

Recently, I would have said Automation for Jira...but for most daily user needs I would say it is JQL filter searches.

Even though JQL cannot answer many questions (it's not a SQL, "they" tell me repeatedly :^) for most people it helps to find things, update board views, produce data for exports/reports, etc. and adjust Jira behavior to support how teams work.
