Hi Prabhu, yes you can publish eazyBI reports on confluence without any plugins. Assuming that you want to publish from JIRA, you have to disable Content-Security-Policy by setting this startup option into <jira-install>/bin/setenv.sh

Refer below link for more details.

Hi,
There are several supported ways on how you can publish eazyBI reports in Confluence:

  1. Using the second eazyBI app available in the Atlassian marketplace - "eazyBI reports and charts for Confluence" (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1219504/eazybi-reports-and-charts-for-confluence).
Along with the Confluence data analytics that gives you the opportunity to get insight into Confluence usage, eazyBI provides improved macros for publishing, e.g., PDF export of Confluence pages also includes eazyBI reports.
Here's how to publish reports and dashboards with new "eazyBI reports and charts for Confluence" macros: https://docs.eazybi.com/eazybiconfluence/publish-reports/eazybi-macros-in-confluence-pages
  2. Using Atlassian standard functionality for Jira server about publishing Jira external gadgets in Confluence. See more in Atlassian documentation: https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/registering-external-gadgets-204050482.html
This option has more limited functionality than our developed macros. And as it is Atlassian functionality we have limited options to improve it thus our recommended way is to use our second app "eazyBI reports and charts for Confluence"
  3. Also, you may use the iframe with a public access token for publishing the report. It is part of "eazyBI for Jira" functionality, and no need to buy another app. https://docs.eazybi.com/eazybijira/publish-reports/dashboards-and-reports-visible-to-non-jira-users (Note that iframe could be used in any web page that has the option to publish HTML.)

Hello @Gerda Grantiņa
Thanks for the detailed answer. Looking at your option (2) for using external gadgets in Confluence and reading several times the page that you linked to, I can only find this: "

You can also publish eazyBI for Jira reports on Confluence pages if you are using eazyBI for Jira Cloud (in the same atlassian.net site) or eazyBI for Jira Server and Jira is linked to Confluences. Please visit the documentation on eazyBI for Jira gadgets in Confluence pages for more details." but this link also circulates to the same page itself, and I actually can't find how to use these gadgets. Assuming these are still available, can you point me more specifically where this explanation is?

Thanks for clarifying,

Rina

Hi @Rina Nir ,

Thanks for mentioning this, as it is functionality provided by Atlassian, we have removed this part from eazyBI documentation.
I updated the answer so it leads to the Atlassian documentation page about registering external gadgetshttps://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/registering-external-gadgets-204050482.html

Gerda

Hi @Gerda Grantiņa

Such a quick response, thank you- it helped a lot!
I managed to make it work for me, so I will share the highlights (Server setup):

  1. Set an applink between confluence and Jira
  2. In Jira: create a dashboard and add the EazyBIU report gadget to it. Just before adding the gadget to the Dashboard you'll see that the gadget has an option to " Show XML Link" -> click this link and copy that XML.
  3. In Confluence admin section, navigate to "External gadgets" , under the tab "Gadget specifications", you'll have a place to "Add New Gadget": Paste the XML link (which you copied in 2) and paste it here --> add.
  4. Now, on any Confluence page, you can add the Macro "EazyBI Report". This Macro was added to your "macro options" via the external gadget setup.
