How to add an Anchor to an image?

Donia July 21, 2021

Hi there,

I'm using Confluence to create user guides and I need to create links to images which is very common in such content.

The /insert/anchor feature doesn't seem to be useful.

Any ideas please?

Hi @Donia

if you want to link to an image I recommend the following:

  1. Go to the page where the image is located
  2. Click on the three-dot-menu in the upper right corner
  3. Go to "Attachments"
  4. Right click on the attachment you want the link from
    • Copy the link
  5. Go to you documentation and insert the link

This should do the trick.

Kind regards,

Svenja

Thanks @Svenja Lorenzen

It does work !

But I think there is a new feature coming soon which can do this more properly, I mean linking to an image inline.

I hope it will be resolved very soon.

Best regards,

Donia

Hi @Donia,

yes I really hope they will implement an easier way soon. This workaround is fine (as it does what it should) but when creating documentation pages there should be a faster way to work with image links.

I'm glad my answer helped you. Thanks for accepting it and have a nice day!

Best,

Svenja
