sending email to gmail group using email script listenr

Hi,

How can I use gmail group when invoking script listner to send mail?

I tried to put it in the To field but no mail was sent.

Thanks

Sounds weird. Normally email should be sent to members of the group.

Is the gmail group associated with any user?

Have you tried a single user address in the to field?

Is the email sent?

No, The gmail group is not associated with any user,

I have tried using a single user and it worked as expected.

I could'nt find any error in the log.

I tried sending a mail to gmail group using "send test mail" option and it didn't work either, so probably it is releated to jira and not specifically to the listner.

I will change the tag

The sentence below

Is the gmail group associated with any user?

should be

Is the gmail group associated with any email address?

If you just created a gmail group without any associated email address, the message will not be forwarded.

Try to associate an existing email address with the gmail group.

Is it a group like this? https://support.google.com/mail/answer/30970?hl=en

Unless it has a proper email address, the mail transport is not going to understand what to do with it. You'll probably find it in the email error queue, and there should be some kind of error in the logs.

It is a regular group support@<mydomain>.com

When using jira's test mail it is working.

I see the mail in the outgoing mail queue but no one from the group is reciving the mail .

Any idea why ?

Earlier you said it wasn't working when using jira's "send a test email" - now it is?

So, as far as we're all concerned it's just a single email address right? Whether it's a distribution list or not seems irrelevant.

> I see the mail in the outgoing mail queue but no one from the group is reciving the mail .

Flush the mail queue and check the logs...
