script runner Plugin

Hi,

We would like to use script runner for the below requiremnt.

> if 'resolution' is about to be changed to 'fixed' then check 'solution description' - if it's not meaningfull (ie. containing only whitespaces) then issue cannot be changed to 'fixed'.
>add current version name to 'fix versions' field on closing of Jira issue if 'fix versions' doesn't contain current version yet.

Please let us know whether the above requirement can be achieved using script runner plugin.

Yes, it can be done.

You'll need a "validator" script for the first requirement, and a "post function" for the second.

The coding should be reasonably easy, but I think you might struggle with the human logic for

  • If text is not meaningful
  • defining current version

hi,

thanks for the update.

IS there any built-in post function or validator for the above requirement?

No, your requirement is too unstructured for a generic script to be able to handle it - you definitely need to code it for your own logic.
