jira behavour plugin - required field based on some condition

gil January 15, 2014

I want to set up 2 custom fields such that, if field1 has a value, then field2 must be required. This is all to be validated during submit/update of ticket.

Can this be done using behaviour plugin or other method? thanks.

Hey there, Gil.

According to the Behaviours plugin page (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.onresolve.jira.plugin.Behaviours) we can see that you are able to "make a field mandatory depending on other data which is included into the form".

Hence, you should be able to achieve this via the usage of the plugin.

Warm regards,

Thank you for the info. I tried out the behavior plugin by inserting some server-side script, and it does not work. Basically, the script will read the value of field1 to determine the required field2. The issue seems like it won’t read the selected value until that value is saved first. Basically, I can’t get this working during the submit/update form.

Another issue is, the inline edit won’t work.

Any suggestion here? Am I dong something wrong?
