Hi Timeline team,

First of all, I'd like to say congrats for the ADD-ON. It's really usefull for planning and to take corrective action during the sprint.

But, I'd really like to know why the timeline interface was built out side of JIRA enviroment, while any other ADD-ON, at least the more known, are building inside JIRA.

Waiting response. Best regards!

Hi Michel,

Thank you for a great feedback!

Honestly, it was a very hard decision to make. The main driver was the support of both installation types of JIRA: Download and OnDemand.

As ActivityTimeline is build outside of JIRA, it can connect to both OnDemand and Download installation types through JIRA Remote API and work with them.

This wouldn't be possible with a Plug-in framework as just a few plug-ins are allowed to run with JIRA OnDemand.

Thanks,

Oleh

Thanks for your response.

You guys have a great solution, no matter if inside or outside JIRA.

Congrats for the team! ;D
