The installation has been running for approximately 12 hours and not sure what should be the next steps we should be taking. We are running SQL Server as a database engine.
Start by reading the logs - adding Comala Workflows should take a few seconds, so it's likely that it's been installed fine, and there's something else going wrong.

There's not enough of the error there to tell us much. Are you using a valid supported version of Comala for your Confluence?
