We are currently using an OnDemand instance of JIRA and are looking to automatically notify anonymous / non-users via e-mail as their ticket is updated. We are willing to move to a downloaded instance of JIRA in order to install JETI and have this feature, but it's unclear what JETI needs from the host server in order to send and receive e-mails.
How does one configure JETI to actually begin sending e-mails? What credentials and server details are needed?
Hi Joshua, JETI does not need more than JIRA to send and receive emails because it uses JIRA's emailing infrastructure.
You'll have to setup:
- an SMTP server that sends out emails, you can configure connection in JIRA
- one or more IMAP/POP account to fetch emails from.
Checkout JIRA system requirements to see other factors like server environment, database, etc.
