We can't rename a test summary/name/title

We've created a test in Zephyr for Jira. We are now wanting to edit that test summary (aka title).

When viewing the test in view mode, the name field doesn't have inline edit.

When viewing the test in edit mode, this field isn't shown and it isn't available under the configure fields to make it visible.

We have to be something wrong, surely you can edit a test name. What are we missing here?

I finally found it. The Zephyr - Define screen did not have the summary field added to it. I added it and it works now.

Hi C K,

The Summary field of an issue type (including issue type Test) belongs to JIRA. We in Zephyr have no control over this field or its permissions.

What you may want to do is reach out to Atlassian or your JIRA Admin to see why you can edit the summary field in some issue types but not others. There is probably a workflow or field configuration that needs to be adjusted.

Are you able the edit the Summary in other JIRA issue types? Such as a bug or story etc?

Yes. We can edit the summary of all other issue types e.g. bug, task.
