Viewing subtasks in Gantt Chart

I have been evaluating Gantt Chart and we have users who like to use sub task functionality.  When the gantt chart is displayed, a blue side arrow appears against tasks with sub tasks but when you click on the expand, no sub tasks are shown.  What settings need to be changed to get the subtasks to appear?
