As space layout designer i want to force all spaces to full width. I am attempting to do this by adding the Full Width macro to the master page layout. This make the master layout full width but doesn't make other spaces using the master layout full width.
Can anyone suggest the right / alternate way of accomplishing what I am attempting?
Hi there, HomeAway,
Instead of inserting that macro in the Master Page, try inserting it into the Header of any space where you'd like the full-width view. If you want full-width across all spaces, make sure they are all using the same header (look in your Zen Space Settings for this) with that macro inserted, or, just make sure that macro is inserted in any header used by your spaces. Please let us know if this does the trick for you!
(Not sure where you are in the process of using Zen, but do note that it is much more straightforward to build a full-width theme in our "next generation of Zen" newly-released product, Theme Press.)
Thank you,
Kelli
p.s. As I'm sure you've already discovered, Zen does have a user-setting in the toolbar to view the site in full-width. Note there is also the "expando" button in the toolbar, which expands the main column to full width and a couple of macros you can use that invoke the same thing - one upon click, and the other, which you've already landed on, as a permanent setting for the page.

It started as any story starts, on a normal, rainy day. Admin meets App, and her name was Klok2, and like any first relationship we were both trying to make it work but neither one knew what...
