Use Case for "Email This Issue"

Hi, I am evaluating the Email This Issue plugin, and am trying to work my way through the numerous configuration settings. I am trying to figure out if the following usage can be met with the product, and I am hoping to get confirmation before investing the time in learning all of the configuration options.

  1. I want to set up an email address and have it polled in Jira (done)
  2. If a Jira user emails an external user from an issue using the "Email" button, can we have that email go out with a fixed From/Reply To address (what I set up in #1), no matter what project it is sent from (which I haven't been able make happen yet); and embedding the issue ID in the subject line (which looks like it would be straightfowrard)
  3. When the external user replys to that email, I would like that response to get appended to either the email or comments in the issue (either is fine)

Will Email This Issue accomplish this?

Email This Issue supports all of the use cases.

  1. Email This Issue has a flexible mail handler that will poll for emails and do something with the email. E.g. store the sender's email address in a custom field or auto acknowledge the sender that the email was processed. See docs.
  2. Emails sent can be configured with a From address via a global Context. Context allow you to configure some functionality per project and issue type. If project and type are empty in a Context, that context is applied to all projects. See docs on Contexts.

  3. When an email is processed and it is associated with an issue, the email is recorded as a comment (depending on your mail handler configuration) AND in the Email Audit Log within the issue. See docs on the Email audit log.
