ToDoList visible upon creation of issue but does not create the checklist or make it visible

Todo list checklist does not show up when i create an issue and select the appropriate checkboxes.  It shows up as an option before creating the issue, however once the issue is created the checklist does not show up anywhere.  How do I see the generated checklist in the issue?
