Timeout exception during enabling PowerReport plugin

Lukas Gold September 13, 2012

Hello,

we have discovered some problem in PowerReport plugin installation and we d like kindly ask for any advice.

Currently we have Atlassian JIRA in version 5.1.3 with mysql database, but without any other plugins and data. We starting installing the PowerReport plugin in this instance to test if it suits our needs according the Power Report s installation guide.

We are installing PowerReport in version 1.2.3.1

We have done almost all phases before plugin installation and put jar file to plugins directory and it is shown in User-installed plugins list, but when we click to Activate button, after several time the JIRA throws a message:

"The call to the JIRA server did not complete within the timeout period. We are unsure of the result of this operation."
We have tried to extend timeout period in our JIRA instance to add parameter -Datlassian.plugins.enable.wait=1000 to setenv.sh in JIRA intance, but not helped.
Thank you in advance ()

You might want to use Birt reports for JIRA  instead because it runs a BIRT instance right inside JIRA therefore it is much easier to install and it would resolve your problem as no 3rd part server is required.

Hello Lukas,

Maybe you will be still interested for an answer : PowerReport for JIRA 5.x is an .obr file. You should directly upload the obr file (not the jar file) from your UPM and it should work correctly.
