Tempo worklog distribution gadget

Laszlo Fodor March 19, 2015

Hi, at the moment we are evaluating the tempo timesheets and planner at our company (500+ users) - and in our workflow every sub-task of a JIRA issue needs to belong to the same account.

In short in our current setup our JIRA issues have the account field, but our sub-tasks do not. Our developers are logging their time on the sub-tasks.

When I run the worklog distribution report I can see that no work has been logged for my accounts, but all the time is shown under 'no account'.

I would like this gadget to consider the time-spent on the sub-tasks to be part of the time spent on the account of the parent issue.

After researching the issue I understand that one work-around is to use one of the available plug-ins from the market to force the sub-tasks to inherit the account from the parent.

However we are not keen on doing this as in our workflow all sub-tasks of an issue must belong to the same account, and we have a number of external processes automatically creating sub-tasks without the use of the account field - and we would prefer not having to touch these just for this reason.

Can you please suggest a solution, so time spent on sub-tasks without an account is summed up under the account of the parent issue?

Hi Lazlo

This is not supported in the current Tempo Timesheets version, but it has been requested in https://tempoplugin.jira.com/browse/JTMAC-47

We value feedback and comments on how we can make Tempo better, so if you'd like to contribute to this request, please vote on it and add a comment that will help Tempo developers to implement this request.

You can click on the labels to view similar requests.

In the meantime you can bulk edit sub-tasks to show the account value. After doing so, logged work will show up in the account.

For more information on bulk edit please see:

I hope this was helpful.
