Tempo planner "Timeline" view freezes

We use the Timeline view to plot out who will be working on what by dragging issues onto the timeline under the user or the associated team.  However, it has quickly reached the point where the page is timing out.  Has anyone else experienced this and how do we get around it?  This is happening for multiple users.

 

I did find an issue similar to this that was closed, but it was closed as duplicate to JTS-1632 which I can find and I don't have an on-demand account.  We run on our own server.  Need to fix this issue to be able to use the product.

Hi Matthew,

we are currently working on performance improvements of the Planner Timeline. The first improvements will be released in Tempo Planner 2.1. You might improve performance by using the Planner Timeline for high level planning and then use the Team Backlog for more detail (see also https://tempoplugin.jira.com/wiki/display/PLANNER020/Team+Backlog).
