Riada Insight - Scheduled Task

carlosgarcia_edw September 25, 2017

Hi All,

We want to use Riada Insight to create scheduled issues in our JIRA.

Simple things like "Create and check the public website", but not related to any asset in the CMDB.

We have been trying several configurations but none seems to work.

Below are the three steps on the "Automation Rule"

1.- When.

Why do we need a condition here?

Don't stare at the "Cron Expression", this is just a "Today Example"

Running the rule manually doesn't create any new Issue.

Is there any other way to see what could be happening?

Greetings, Carlos.

Hi Carlos,

I would advise you to look at the documentation available at https://documentation.riada.se/display/ICV50/Insight+Automation

For the condition, the following can be found:

  1. Condition: This is a IQL expression and when the scheduled rule is activated, all Insight objects that are matched by the Condition, will trigger an individual Action.
For more details, please refer to: https://documentation.riada.se/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=13573623

If you have no condition setup, there is no way to know for which objects to execute the automation for. A normal use case is if an date is about to expire and you want to create an email or JIRA issue, then the IQL would be provided to check if any object has a date that is about to expire.

I hope this answered your question.

Best Regards
Alexander
