Report time based on Project Code

Lea Anthony May 3, 2015

We have an internal time reporting system that has codes based on the type of work we are doing. Each project will have one of these codes associated with it. What we would like to do is align our tempo timesheets system to this so that at the end of each day we can see how much time was spent in each time code. What is the best way to achieve this?

Thanks.

Hi Lea,

You can achieve this by creating Accounts in Tempo and linking them to corresponding projects in JIRA. You can read more about Accounts and how to do this here.

I also recommend that you match the Account Key property in Timesheets with the codes you use in your other systems.

Hi,

Yes, bulk editing in JIRA should help you achieve this. Here are some instructions on how to bulk edit:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Modifying+Multiple+%28Bulk%29+Issues

The idea is to create a search that includes the issues that have Account = Empty and then bulk edit them and select the correct account.

Hope this helps!

Hi Albert,

We now have this working well. Quick question though: Is there an easy way to assign all current tickets within a project to the account associated with the project? I can see that new tickets inherit the value but existing ones do not.

Many thanks!
